Does the job just fine.
Fairly basic really, but does the job just fine. Feels OK in hand, just typical plastic but OK. Comes with detacheable, hard sensor cover - very toughtfull. The 9V battery came included in the box. 2 updates per second, response time is ~2sec. displays result in lux and "fc". I cannot comment on accuracy because i do not have a reference. The only function is "hold", and the only output is LCD screen, so one cannot use it as long term data recorder. For the price, the value is not outstanding, but i can say I am satisfied.

I was extremely surprised to see the quality of this meter considering its low price. It is easy to operate, seems very durable, and when comparing the readings against a more expensive meter one of my coworkers has, the readings were the same. I would definitely recommend this product. The seller shipped my item in a timely fashion and followed up with an e-mail to make sure I was satisfied.

I have no way to calibrate or validate this device, but it seems relatively accurate. When compared to the lux meter on my phone, the numbers are relatively close (same order of magnitude at least) and I'd trust this device over a phone lux meter. I do wish that the little panel that covers up the dome was somehow connected to the meter, through a piece of rubber or something, or that the cover slid down the back. Something that kept it with the device, so that you didn't have to carry around/keep track of it while using the meter. It is pretty amazing to compare light levels in different environments. Since humans see light more or less logarithmically, we don't notice nearly the same discrepancy in light intensity. A regular room may be 100 lux, shade outside may be 25000 lux. In any case, for the price, it's a good little lux meter. It's a bit of a novelty, useful for checking if your plants are getting enough light, using it as a photography light meter, things like that.
