Q: Does it keep away mice?

Mice don't like peppermint oil and you might also try ultrasonic repellers if you don't have small pets. Drives them crazy.

Q: Does this soap smell manly or feminine?

The rose sent is more on the feminine side but the others are unisex. Peppermint or sage smells good on anyone!

Q: I'm going to use this as shampoo. i'm now seeing recommendations to use an acidic rinse after (e.g. dr. bronners or apple cider). is that necessary?

I too have fine, oily hair, brown. Love this as shampoo, cleans great and rinses fully away. One bar for body, hair and shaving.

Q: can you use this soap as a shaving cream?

Yes because of my eczema I actually do use this as a shaving cream. I also use it as a shampoo, but my hair is buzzed short.
