FURminator Adjustable Dematter Tool for Cats and Dogs

This removed all the matts from my persian cats coat. Does he like it? Nope, but he tolerates it long enough to do the job. The adjustable feature is genius, works very well and easy to do one handed so the cat doesn't run away!

Ok. It’s expensive. Instructions say short sharp quick brushing - I was very worried this would yank the skin and hurt and traumatise so I adapted the technique. My older cat had to have her whole back shaved some months ago. She’s an average British short hair tabby. Just old, not great at grooming. Fur grew back nicely but I noticed clumps starting again either side of her back and saw that she was very very tender. Furminator is a godsend but read on as you need to do what works best with your own cat. In future at the first sign of a clump the furminator will be gently used. I have four cats and have had many cats over the years but only just had a cat clumping problem, so bought the furminator. I went and sat with her as she lay on her beanbag, kind of pressed her down gently as she lay there to stop her escape and brushed the less bad bits as instructed. As I found a lot of really hard matted clumps I pressed her body near the root of those really bad patches and worked away gently at the clump (talking to her all the time too) so as not to totally tug and hurt her. Pressing at the clump base stops the whole skin being pulled. I just worked at each clump til all the matts came away, and they did. She lay there, almost purring but not happy but if there’s trust there she’ll know you’re helping her. Perfect 16 year old happy cat! Very happy. Literally will not stop purring now. My other Manxie much younger had clumps near her hind quarters too, I used same technique, all sorted. Don’t listen to bad reviews. You know your own cat. Soothe her, hold her firm, reassure her and press the base of the matted bits to stop the skin totally being pulled. Best money I’ve spent, hands down! Don’t give up, this definitely works.

I was using this gently on my cat. Takes a while to work out how to use it and its best before matt gets too bad. Better to hold the matt near animals skin (to prevent pulling which would hurt the animal) then stroke through the Furminator. If in doubt ask your vet or vet-nurse. The cutting edges are well tucked up within the overall teeth and can work well. Remember that because of these cutting edges, if you use the furminator just to “brush through” your cat/dog’s fur, the cutting edges mean that the fur will end up being thinned out. I like the fact that the instrument is well-built and solid. I’m just trying to get myself and my cat used to it.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Didn’t help much with short haired cat in removing mats. But would be useful for longer fur. Seemed to help by adding leave in detangling cat shampoo spray first.

Works as described but still pulls the cats skin. I found just using olive oil alone released the matts, you just get a greasy cat though. Hence 4 stars and not 5 as I found something that works better. Good fast delivery. The deshedding tool I also brought from here works really well, my cat purrs away when using it.

Top Produkt bei richtigem Umgang. Habe diesen entfilzer für meine Perserkatze gekauft da durch den Fellwechsel und spielen die Haare so schnell verfilzt waren trotz regelmäßigen Kämmen das ich was anderes gesucht habe da es mit der normalen Bürste eher eine Qual für sie ist und rasieren nur die aller letzte Option war. Also bestellt und getestet. Am Anfang muss man lieber vorsichtiger und je nach Stärke der Verfilzung nicht komplett bis kurz vor die haut ansetzen sondern sich lieber von oben nach unten ins Fell arbeiten. Sonst ist es auch für diese Bürste und für die Katze eine Qual. Wenn man vorsichtig und mit Geduld rangeht und Stück für Stück man sich durcharbeitet geht es schnell und schön, klingen sind scharf und so konstruiert das schneiden der Katze eigentlich unmöglich ist. Habe innerhalb von ca 20 min und 2 anläufen( je 10min um die Katze nicht zu stressen) alle Verfilzungen ohne Drama entfernt und bin begeistert. Ist natürlich für die Katze nicht so schön wie eine normale bürste aber Verfilzungen müssen weg und das dank der bürste ohne Schmerzen und Drama

Este quita nudos para mascotas, es simplemente increíble. Los nudos de pelo de los animales, desaparecen fácilmente con sólo darle unas pasadas con él. Sus dientes cortan de maravilla. Éstos se pueden abrir o cerrar dependiendo del pelo más o menos largo de vuestra mascota. Imprescindible para esos nudos de pelo rebeldes que aparecen y que tan poco nos gustan. Muy recomendable.

Consegna puntuale, articolo corrispondente pienamente a quanto pubblicizzato. Facile da utlizzare, ottimi risultati. Unica avvertenza: usare con delicatezza perchè si può impuntare nei ciuffi di pelo più aggrovigliati.

J'ai acheté cet article avec l'espoir qu'il soit utile pour éliminer les bourres des poils de mon chat le plus âgé. Les lames de la brosse sont effectivement affûtées, mais en fait elle me paraît totalement inefficace pour éliminer les bourres, car elle tire sur les poils, ce qui fait mal au chat. En revanche sur mon autre chat qui a un pelage sans nœuds, la brosse élimine très bien les sous-poils qui ne tiennent plus et il apprécie beaucoup la séance de brossage.
