After purchasing a small table with a propane fire pit we were troubled by small amounts of wind driving the flames sideways. Some quick research offered up the American Fireglass shield. I measured the pit and settled on the 17.5" x 17.5" square. It's about an inch and a half wider than our circular pit on all sides. There were no real instructions but you don't need them. It's pretty easy to figure out. The biggest piece of advice I have, depending on your size is to put it where you want it and make sure everything is even and level before final tightening. This shield has allowed us to use this pit with 15mph winds and no issues. It's clean and attractive on top of it all. Friends liked it so much at least 2 were going to purchase their own. Can't recommend it enough.

At first I did not think I needed flame guard, but I am so glad I did. The flame is no longer is laid over by the wind, the effect is much more realistic. The rest of the pit is made of American Fyre Designs Prairie Oak Log Kit - PRO-27 , I looked for fire logs for some time before buying this set. I could have spent a lot more money, but I don't think I would be much happier. The detail on the logs are great, the size is perfect. The opening in the pit is 36" and you can see that the logs fill the opening nicely. The metal frame allows the logs to be stood up to create a campfire look. The logs came in a box through UPS and they had damaged the box and in turn broke 3 of the logs. The supplier is replaced them right away. The burner is from Hearth Products Controls Penta Stainless Steel Fire Pit Burner, 24-Inch, Natural Gas gave me exactly the look I wanted. The unseen fire pan is from American Fireglass 36" Square Stainless Steel Drop-in Fire Pit Pan (1/2" Nipple)

Very pleased after we assembled it. Short panic when we received the package. The picture on the box did not represent the wind guard that we ordered and I was about to return it when we decided to open the container and see the contents. It was the one we ordered. There were no instructions included so we finally figured out how to put it together. We chipped one of the glass panels because one of the plastic guards come loose and we didn't know it until we tightened the screw chipped off the top of the glass.It is a perfect fit for our fire pit however.I contacted the owner and asked what the price would be to replace the panel that we had chipped. He responded promptly and immediately put a replacement glass panel in the mail at no cost.This is fantastic service and I cannot be more appreciative of this product.

This glass works great for my firepit. Allows the flame to come up vs blow across the brick. At my house, I have an open field behind me and allows any breeze to control the flame of firepit but not anymore. Make sitting around much more enjoyable. I can lower the flame and still have the nice ambiance of the fire. Also dresses up the firepit. The unit was easy to assemble only need a #2 philips head screwdriver. Packing was sufficient so that glass would be tough to break during shipping. I would recommend for anyone who has wind issues like I had and wants to dress up firepit.

Love this - it was packed so carefully, it took me awhile (and a sharp knife) to unpack, but every piece of glass was perfect, even tho our delivery person DROPPED IT over the fence. Sigh. Back to the glass- it does not come with assembly instructions, but it's easy to figure out with a few minutes of thought and a flat head screw driver. Fit our propane fireplace perfectly, and keeps the flames straight on our breezy deck. Also, it's tall enough to provide a reasonable barrier against our dogs' tails (3 Bernese Mountain Dogs), which is really why we bought it. Very happy!

This thing works!! We are finally able to use our gas fire pit on those windy days.

I live 8 miles from Mount Washington in New Hampshire and this product is amazing for wind protection. My propane firepit on my deck was unusable until I bought this. This glass and hardware looks great too. It is high quality yet still priced affordably.
