Outstanding taste; larger-than-normal protein amount!
Absolutely the BEST protein shake in existence! I've tried them all, and 99% suffer from the same problem—unpleasant taste, even a little: chalky taste, bitter taste, chemical taste, etc. These Pure Protein ones do not. At all. The "frosty chocolate" flavor ones I get are the absolute best of all the flavor varieties, and there is not one bit of an aftertaste or anything other than rich, sweet, delicious chocolate taste. Trust me on this; you'll love them! The other major reason I give these a 5-star review is because they have 35g of protein, more than any other protein drink of the same size. Most 12-oz or even 16-oz protein drinks range from 10 to 28g of protein, give or take. Not these—they're a nice, healthful 35g of protein, which is why they make excellent outright meal replacements & not just supplements like a snack or similar. I have been ordering these for over 6 years, at least, and love them! You will too. They're perfect as that protein boosting drink, or you can even use them as a meal replacement. UPDATED FEBRUARY 2023 I used to get this via monthly Subscribe and Save for around $22 to $28 per 12-pack. However, around late summer/early fall 2022, Amazon removed this product from its Subscribe and Save program. The sole reason for this action was due to the price of a 12-pack skyrocketing to just under 50 bucks! To say I was shell-shocked would be an understatement. As a result, I no longer purchase this product from Amazon, which really disappoints me, because as I've stated earlier, this is the best-tasting protein shake out there AND the one with the highest amount of protein at 35 grams. Why its price literally doubled here on Amazon is baffling. Because of that, I have had to purchase it elsewhere. It's still expensive where I now buy it, but it's at least less than Amazon's cost. UPDATED AUGUST 2, 2023 Within the last month, the price of this 12-pack has increased THREE times, skyrocketing to its current $95. It went from $78 to $89 to its current price on Aug. 2nd of $95, all in the last 4 weeks alone. That's absolutely insane! Factor in the sales tax, and who the heck is going to pay a hundred bucks for a 12-pack of protein shakes? I'm tempted to order the 12-pack of similar protein shakes advertised here and fortunately made by the same company, Pure Protein, to see how THOSE taste. Those come in the cardboard or paper-based, individual containers and are advertised here in a "rich chocolate" flavor option. Granted, they contain 14% less protein (30g compared to 35g) than the ones in the cans here, but that shouldn't be a major issue.

Shake it up!
I recently purchased these Pure Protein 35 milligram shakes in the frosty chocolate flavor. I replaced a morning coffee and bagel with this shake and have noticed a resulting weight loss. The flavor is fairly good, as is the consistency. My only issue with these shakes is the added strength that they've given me. It's superhuman, really. I was at the gym doing my normal set of weight lifting when I somehow managed to lift triple my normal weight. My personal trainer was shocked. I attempted to lift the weights with my normal stance, and when they were so much lighter I mistakenly threw them up at the ceiling, damaging several ceiling tiles and knocking a light fixture loose from the wall. Wires were dangling everywhere. It was like a scene from a movie. “Whoa!” my personal trainer exclaimed. “Where the heck did you get all that strength from?!” “I… I don’t know,” I stammered. “I just had a new protein shake this morning. That’s the only thing I did differently. Wait a minute… The protein shakes! What’s in those things?!” The answer is that the Pure Protein shakes have 35 milligrams of protein as well as 80% of your daily calcium intake. They also contain some iron and potassium. “I’ve been a trainer for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this,” my personal trainer remarked with her eyes widened. “We need to go on the road with this! We’ll enter you in every strongman contest there is. We’ll be rich! Filthy rich!” “That’s the best idea I’ve ever heard!” I exclaimed. What will I call myself?” I asked her. “Why, Pure Protein Princess!” she replied. “I love it. Let’s talk and iron out all the details,” I responded. By this time a crowd had gathered around to watch my superhuman feats of strength. They all watched as my personal trainer added more and more weights, and I was able to lift them every time. “Oohs” and “aahs” were heard coming from the captivated crowd. People kept asking how this was possible, and my only answer was Pure Protein shakes! People started going on their smartphones and ordering shakes by the case. Within minutes, the site was sold out of every case! Pure Protein should give me stock in these things! Needless to say, I learned my lesson and only drink half a can at a time now. Although superhuman strength is appealing and all, I want to actually put the work in at the gym to lose weight and tone my muscles.

Great value! Good taste!
I was pretty skeptical about purchasing these shakes, because let's face it. What protein shake is actually delicious? This one is honestly REALLY good. It does have that sweetner after taste, but I can get past it. If you can drink diet soda these shouldn't be a problem at all. The taste reminds me of "diet yoohoo" if you can wrap your brain around that. I drank one for breakfast at about 9:30 this morning and it's almost 2:00 p.m. and I'm just barely starting to feel hungry again. I am planning to use them as meal replacements for weight loss. They have 35g of protein per shake which is AWESOME and really helps with cravings and hunger. For the price and convenience of them coming in a can I can see why they are the best seller! I will definitely be purchasing again.

good
I tried these but I think I prefer bottles or something better. These are very convenient, however, they have a slight metallic taste from the can (which I think is common for most things in cans or metal, so no big deal imo). Also, this SPRAYS a lot when I open it. Every single can I have opened has sprayed me or my surroundings. The whole point was that I wanted to take this to work, or on the go, and I was kind of embarrassed to open and drink this since it just sprays/spits on me. the flavor is fine, the value is fine. But I am realizing I am disliking canned drinks as a whole and I am preferring bottled drinks (sodas, waters, protein shakes) because they're resealable and better for travel and tend to spray less, and no slight metallic taste. If you like canned drinks and shakes, then these are for you! But if you think you already like bottled protein drinks, then stick with the bottles and pass on these.

Good Product - Quality Control Issues with Packaging
The Pure Protein shake is great. It tastes good with excellent nutrition. However, each shipment I receive has dented cans which are clearly dented before they are shrinkwrapped in the manufacturer's case pack. This assessment is based on cans being dented within the case pack on the inner areas of the case pack. There was no damage to the exterior of the case pack, and Amazon expertly packed and shipped the product, as usual. It is always concerning as a consumer to see unmitigated quality control issues, as it begs the question - are there other QC issues the manufacturer is overlooking which we cannot see? I'm currently conflicted about continuing to purchase the product, as visible issues of this nature are a red flag. I have a reasonably high level of confidence dented but not punctured cans are not going to create a problem with the liquid protein shake inside. I have a Subscribe and Save purchase set up, and will see how the next shipment comes in.

Good
This has a good protein to carb ratio (35 grams of protein to only 5 grams of carbs, two of which are from fiber), so if you are doing a low-carb or keto diet, it is great for that. The flavor is okay, but the stuff does settle at the bottom of the cans, so you definitely want to shake it up before you put the cans in the fridge and a few minutes before you drink it. It is not carbonated so it will not spray all over the place if you shake it before you open it, but if you do try to open the can right after shaking it, a bit may spray out the top so you want to do it over a sink. But, if you shake it and let it sit for a minute or two, that will not be an issue. I definitely recommend drinking it cold, because it tastes much better cold than it does warm.

Best protein:calories:price ratio
I used to buy muscle milk pro by the case before recently finding these. The muscle milk has 40g protein at 200 calories per bottle. This Pure Protein is 35g protein at 170 calories. Pretty much even on the protein/calories ratio. However. The price of a case of muscle milk pro on Amazon seems to fluctuate drastically. I’ve paid anywhere from $30 per case to $45 per case. And sometimes they only have it from “other” suppliers at over $100 per case ! No thankya One case of PP runs about $22. Each case has 35x12 = 420g protein. That comes out to 5.2 cents per gram of protein. One case of MM runs about $39 right now for cookies and cream, the lowest price flavor. That’s 40x12 = 480g protein, so you are paying 8.1 cents per gram of protein. I’d say the MM tastes only slightly better. It’s sweeter for sure. The PP is just a tad chalky. But for slamming down after you leave the gym, these are the best bang for your buck right now.

serious quality control issues, rotten/spoiled product and ruptured cans
I've been subscribed (regular deliveries from amazon) to this product for a few months. Usually, the cans would come with some dried product on the outside, indicating that some other cans had ruptured somewhere in the supply chain. It was a bit annoying but could be washed off easily enough. The cans themselves would be overpresurized. Opening them, they would spray the product out a bit, as if carbonated (but of course, they aren't carbonated). A bit annoying but not a big deal. The deal breaker for me was when I got cans that had ruptured (presumably a combination of the overpresurization and rough shipment). The rupture was small enough that I didn't notice until I had already opened it and took a sip. The product had gone bad and I threw up. I couldn't tell from the smell when I opened the can, but when I poured it out, it had basically turned into curds at the bottom. There are some serious quality control issues going on here, which is a shame because the product would otherwise be excellent.
