Keep away from cats and kids
There are several pros and cons to this plant stand, and none of the cons are deal breakers. Let's start with the pros. All of the wood pieces match - from the computer screen, it looked as if the cross bars might have been a different color, but that isn't the case. All the holes are drilled to align, making assembly easier. Not only did they send all the hardware in a zip-lock baggie, they sent duplicates of the hardware (greatly appreciated!). All the pieces of wood were securely wrapped in a kind of foam. The page of instructions is easy to follow, clearly written and with decent drawings. I like the fact that, technically, you can turn the stand upside-down so your potted plant will be higher or lower, as you prefer. Now for the cons - which are very few. The "finished" ends of the legs are not sanded smooth. They aren't splintery, but they're rough enough to catch on carpet or scratch a floor. If you're not planning to change how you use the planter (low or high), I recommend securing those little felt pads to the bottoms to protect your floors. Also, the wood is soft, and despite the careful packaging, there were dents in some of the pieces. Those dents were only noticeable up close, and no one is going to eyeball the planter by getting on their hands and knees, so they weren't a problem for me. One thing you should note, though. This planter can be knocked down by any active toddler, rambunctious dog, or a cat who thinks its claws need sharpening. Other than that, I liked this product very much (alas, so does my cat).

Assembly tips
Very easy to assemble.Comes with instructions but, here's a couple tips.Lie out pieces of interwoven, square base first. It's much easier to assemble, if your visual, to see it first. The instructions tell you to assemble one set of legs at a time. The long ones, then the short. The long & short go on the same screw. One tightens clockwise. The other counter clockwise. If you can do this comfortably, it's easier to assemble them together, than having the legs slip a bit when you flip it over. Also, if your a detail person, you may want to match up the wood grains to each short/long leg set before assembly.I like this planter.I didn't have high expectations for it because I knew it was designed to be an affordable, mass-produced piece. It's sturdy enough to hold a 5 gallon or 12 inch ceramic pot with soil and plants. It doesn't look fancy. It's definitely something that would be referred to as a mid-century or Farmhouse piece. It has a light finish so it's not a raw, exposed wood.Keep in mind, you could also very easily spray-paint, if you wanted to do something a little different with it.It's a good piece to give height or create space. We used it for the air purifier before the plant went on it.May have to get another.

Easy to assemble, very attractive and sturdy
My house is filled with plants, as is my garden, so I'm always looking for new ways to display them, organize them, and generally deal with them all. So needless to say, I was looking forward to playing with this.First, assembly was a BREEZE. Opened the box and it was assembled just minutes later. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, everything you need is in the box, and it all fit together great. After struggling with some bookcases recently, this was a welcome change of pace.Speaking of the box, GREAT packaging. Everything was secure and well-protected. No worries about anything arriving damaged. The stand itself is nice looking, with a natural wood finish and a simple, timeless look that should match many types of decor. The stand is sturdy, too. It can take a bit of weight, so no worries about using it with a heavier pot. Should be fine. You will want to put some padded feet on the legs if you have hardwood floors, though, as they're a tough rough. The pot is the question, of course. I had to try several before I found one that fit nicely. Once I did, though, I was quite happy with how securely it held and how it looked. Love presenting my plant this way. Mine is on the floor, but this is small enough to fit on a shelf or counter, too.Big thumbs up. I really liked this a LOT.

Fairly easy to assemble, looks nice
It was a trifle tricky to get this together for a klutz like me, but I managed in about ten minutes. When they say not to tighten the screws, they mean at all. You have to follow the diagram for the base, and the final screw won't meet so you can screw it down unless the other pieces are a bit loose. It was easy to tighten the screws with the enclosed hex wrench. The legs attach with double-ended screws through the short and long legs, and I initially screwed in the short screws too far. It was easy to unscrew them a bit so the long legs could screw on. then I tightened everything. It looks really nice even without a perfect-sized pastel pot as in the photo--I have an 8 inch black cylinder pot and it looks fine. It seems as if you could also flip it over for a plant you wanted to be closer to the floor. The finish on one leg was slightly less than perfect, but with the plant on it, you can't see it. Very nice!

Nice Looking Planter Stand, Lackluster Quality
This wooden plant stand arrived neatly bundled in a cardboard box. Even though it arrived safely, some of the wood on this plant stand already had some dings and dents. Not too bad, but disappointing for a new item. All the of tools and hardware to build it are included. We received an extra set of screws and tool. It took about 5 minutes to put the stand together. One of the interior screw casings was not inserted into the wood at a straight angle and though the screw went in, the result is slightly crooked leg. This is a smallish planter stand and is ideal for sitting on top of a counter or shelf. It does not come with a pot. You will need to shop around for a pot that fits the stand. Overall, it works fine and looks great with our mid century modern decor.
