Cheaply made but it will do
The cross bar that goes across where the jelly is needs to be taken out. I had an ant mode I used for this also to keep those little critters out. It also says it fits a 12 oz jelly jar I've looked at several stores and can't find 12 oz of jelly so I hope this one doesn't break

Good for the money
It works great! My advice:*Needs an ant moat or cooking oil on the hanger mechanism to prevent ants.*Baby food jar doesn’t screw in, but as I am a habitual jar saver I found a plastic one that does. Jar that comes with is thin, so best to be on the lookout for an eventual replacement.*Assembly is not obvious and instructions are lacking. See photos.*Guard at mouth of feeder is stupid and dangerous to the birds, and should be removed.*Angle of feeder can be adjusted through hanging wire… shouldn’t have jar parallel to ground because will drip… and too perpendicular to ground will collect leaf litter and rain ( if you are lucky enough to get rain).*Other critters can be deterred by hanging on Shepard’s hook or other non-climb-able hardware. Remember to consider that rats can climb and when properly motivated will jump 12” or so. My overhanging house eves work well.*Easy to clean.*Should be cheaper, but it’s so much better than the cups.* Best nectar feeders for both orioles and hummers are made by “Aspects”…expensive but worth absolutely every penny. Has unconditional lifetime warranty.Good luck.

Highly recommend this feeder
The Orioles, Vireos, and all Finches have loved this feeder and go to it first over the other jelly feeders that are on the patio. No bees have been caught in it - unlike the other jelly feeders I have owned. Highly recommend this feeder!

Over the years have bought 3-4 of this feeder. Super easy and they dig it!

Arghhh
Had high hopes based on reviews. Bought 2. One is good. Other one had one prong for putting in perch bent and actually white in color. The white was because it was bent and orange color gone from stretching of prong so no perch to put on that jar. Disappointed

Sure fire way to attract orioles
I have used these feeders for several years with great success. After a couple of years the orange plastic “flower” fades, which is why I ordered two new ones this year. One caveat: You should not leave this feeder out when you can’t monitor the jelly level. As noted on the package, it should be refilled when it is about one third full. Otherwise a bird may try to stick its head in too far, even though there’s a little bar in the opening to prevent that. Catbirds like this feeder too, which is nice, and other birds don’t mess with it at all.

orioles love this
I hung 2 up this spring and was blessed with 4 pair of Baltimore orioles and 2 pair of orchard orioles. What a sight to see everyday - all day. There were other birds that tried the jelly and liked it, but the most amazing to watch was the Red Breasted Woodpecker. Being such a large bird, he got very creative using the feeder. Unfortunately, raccoons also found the feeders and broke the halter. I placed it on a wooden box during the day and the birds were still able to use it.What I didn't like was how difficult it was to keep the tilt right so that birds could get the jelly, but not have it spill out onto the ground. Love how easy it is to fill and clean.

It works!
Looks exactly as pictured on the web site . I’ve only seen an oriole once around my yard many years ago.I hung it outside and in 3 days I had a pair of orioles.
