So-so construction,
Gloves are solid enough for sliding, but the materials are not sufficiently robust to protect back/sides of fingers in a crash. I did an unintentional superman at around 12 mph after tangling with a storm drain and touched down with my right pinky. Fabric on the knuckle more or less vaporized and left me with some gnarly road rash. Avoiding that is why I wear gloves... Especially at this price, these need more durable fabric or overlays on the back of the hand. Also, the stitching on one index finger tip missed the edge. It's not a hug thing, but it does show subpar quality control. I wouldn't purchase these again.

Exceptional gloves
When I got my freebord about 3 weeks ago, I immediately knew that I was going to need slide gloves. So I shopped a bit and I found these. I also found another pair by triple 8 with a finger and thumb puck as well, but I chose the more dexterous option. The puck does what it’s supposed to, slide, and provides just enough friction to create a point on which you can pivot. The fingertips are indeed Kevlar but it’s thin, and the thread retaining the Kevlar is not itself Kevlar. That being said, if the gloves are being used properly you won’t need them. The puck has hook Velcro on the back, and the gloves themselves have the loop pads on the palms. The palm side of all of the fingers are leather, however only the index finger of each glove has leather on the back as well. This gives the gloves breatheability that I quite like.I bought these as a protective measure for my hands, not as a platform for trick slides, and they have done this job nicely. The other gloves might be better for learning, as they won’t get ripped up as soon.

Very good gloves, if you use them correctly!
I apologize for my previous review. Being a beginner to the sport, I didn't correctly use the glove, causing the glove to break. After doing some research, I found that only the puck should be on the ground, as I was putting my entire glove on the ground, causing damage. I now know that these gloves are very good, only when used to their purpose.

Avoid!
I'm a normal skater learning to longboard as well so these are the gloves I chose. As a novice i want even going that fast but guaranteed, if any part of the glove other then the puck touches the ground, it instantly disintegrates. Almost unbelievably. I'm regular and am learning copeman slides. You can see the wear in the photos between untouched to about 20 low speed coleman slides later. Please brotatoes, get any other pair and avoid this brand like the plague.

Much better than I expected
These gloves honestly ended up being much higher quality than I expected them to be. They are mad of a combination of leather, elastic/polyester, and kevlar woven polyester for the fingertips. The fingers are pretty thin, but they fit me decently well. They seem stiff at first, but they just need a bit of breaking in, and they start to get pretty comfortable.

Bad material!!!!!!
They looked good at first but after one slide they tore. Not happy about it. The puck seemed fine but the fabric on the fingers is super fragile. DO NOT BUY.

the stitching around the fingers could be better. The thumb ripped open after a few weeks
These have served me well as a beginner, but if I'm critical, the stitching around the fingers could be better. The thumb ripped open after a few weeks, and that was before I started to practice slides. Taped it up, and all is well, but still kind of aggravating.

there nice and slidey but be warned.
There nice and slidey. They don't drag you to a stop which is what I like about them. But since the edges of the puck are squared be careful on really crappy roads. As I was sliding the edge of the puck got stuck on a crack on the road and almost pulled my shoulder out. I still managed to put my hand into the right place before taking a nasty spill
