Mounting screws too small & s hort, seat slats very uncomfortable
I had this mounted to corian finished shower. Asked manufacturer screw size, they said #14 × 1-3/4-2". The actual screw side is metric, between #8 & 9 & screws &1 3/4" in length. The screws started pulling out after 3 shower use. I weigh 195#, this bench is rated at 300#'s so be aware yu'll need at least #12 x 3" screws which the mounting flange will accept without creating a larger opening which will cause the stainless to rust after boring for a larger screw size. I bought #12 & #14 × 3" stainless wood screws not knowing hole sizes but used the #12's. Should those #12 screws pull loose I'll go to the #14's. The seat itself is miserable where the slats are cut. Those openings should be rounded more or better yet the manufacturer should offer a padding glued on and/or make it available for people who already bought and mounted this bench. The way it came it feels as though the openings are cutting into the skin when seated on it so it is very uncomfortable. It works as intended but they should have something written in the sales iliterature on what I wrote. I would of rated it a 5 if these issues did not exsist.

Marginal Quality, Poor Instructions
Poor directions that don't cover things to beware of. The u-shaped mounting flanges were slightly bent (poorly made) so you HAVE to mount this by installing one screw (of the 3) on one of the flanges, leveling the seat and marking the flange on the other side. Next install 1 screw on the other side flange and recheck for level. This is a real PITA if you are going into tile (as we were). If all is level then mark the remaining flange screw holes (2 per side). Other concern is IF you are going thru tile & drywall/cement board you WILL need longer screws. It comes with #10 x 2.0 SS screws. We used #10 x 2.5 SS screws for 4 of the flange holes and #12 x 2.5 SS screws for the other 2. Could have used all #12's if we had them. Drill the tile with a1/4" diamond bit (per instructions) -not hard to do & caulk the flange and holes while assembling. CAUTION: the large U-shaped seat support ( that goes in the metal assembly at the wall MUST fit between the left & right U-shaped flanges. It IS possible to install the flanges too close together, which won't allow the U-shaped support to touch the wall. Difficulty rating is: hard-very hard for the average homeowner. Guess that's why they keep recommending professional installation.
