Somewhat tricky but does the job
I had used this battery replacement to resurrect my Tungsten E2 which I thought had bit the dust several months ago. It was not charging properly at the time (this was after about almost 2 years of use) - not able to do a full charge. And I noticed the charge wearing out rather fast. Finally, one day I could not turn it on nor reset at all, charger or not.I appreciate the other reviews which pointed me to this product -- it saved me over $150 to buy a new PDA. You definitely need to buy this version that has the special screwdriver with it. And I highly recommend what others said about looking at youtube videos on how to replace it.I did the replacement in about 30-40 minutes. The only minus was that I used a sharp knife to split open the inside and the result was leaving a few scratchmarks on the sides (I couldn't find another object to wedge it open and you can't use the screwdriver itself for that task). But has no effect on performance.$13 dollars vs $150 -- it was worth the gamble to see if the battery replacement would bring back my PDA and I have no regrets. Battery works awesomely and has plenty of long lasting power before a charge is needed. The one caution is that you'll need to reset the PDA (as instructed on various online instructions) which can mean losing your data. But hopefully you've already backed it up on a computer via a sync before it went down.SCREEN PROTECTOR - This is a nice bonus to it. This however took me almost a half hour to place on right -- mostly figuring how to cut the cover and reinforement layers correctly so that it fits snug on the display window. Once done it works well. You might have to tap slightly harder to register, but I don't think I have to do that anymore. And you definitely want to be sure to get out all the air bubbles as much as you can (as per instructions).

Works by only if patient enough to get it in
I've had the battery in my previously short energy Palm TUngsten E2 for a couple of weeks and it has lenghtened the time I can use it. I can't say by exactly how much b/c I didn't fully drain the old one then start it to see how long it lasted; this is my observation based on how often I have to recharge it now.But my Palm works just fine. The battery did not short it out or cause it to work funny or anything like that.As other people have indicated, the instuctions are only part of what you need to know to insert it. Watch a Youtube video first and be prepared to feel like you are breaking it: there is a lot of breaking plastic sound. Also, keep prying gentlly around the edges when you are pulling it apart - I got frustrated in one place and now have a slight divit in the case because I turned what I was using to pull the two sides a part instead of continuing to use the flat edge to continuly "pop" the two pieces apart.I found that a very thin small knife blade worked well for the prying part - it has to pretty slim to get into the space it needs to.Once it is apart the wire from the old battery (on the top part) to the connection (on the bottom part) is about an inch and a half long, so don't just open them up quickly. Finally, Keep The Bottom Part Flat At All Times. I mean it. I didn't and the whole plastic assmbly at the top for turning it on and off fell out. It took me 20 minuets just to reassmble that part.If you can, have small nimble fingers and a high tolerance for finicky work.

Great replacement battery.
Perfect replacement for the palm Tungsten E2, it even came with a screwdriver for the back of the case, easy in easy out. Took me about 10 minutes. I highly recommend this replacement battery.

Easy to Install...Even a Caveman can do it...
So far so good...Old battery was easy to remove and replaced...After one month, the battery is still approximately 95% charged...

Extend the Life of your Palm Tungsten E2
I bought this item because the battery in my five-year-old Palm Tungsten E2 was barely holding a charge anymore. I was pleased to learn that this item included more than just a new battery. It also included detailed instructions for disassembling the Palm, along with the special tool needed to undo the screws holding the Palm together. The Tungsten E2 is not easy to disassemble, but the provided instructions made it relatively simple. Now, the charge in my Palm lasts nearly as long as it did when the device was new, saving me the cost of having to buy a new PDA.For the price, the battery along with the instructions and tool are already a great deal, but Osprey-Talon went the extra distance by adding in a screen protector. Unfortunately, the protector did not work well for me, as my Palm stopped sensing the stylus with the thing on. However, even though the screen protector didn't work out for me, I still consider this item a great deal for the price. If the only thing wrong with your Palm Tungsten E2 is the battery, this replacement battery kit can save you a very considerable amount of money compared to replacing your PDA.

Good Replacement Battery, Needs Some Work
This is a good replacement battery for the PALM Tungsten E, however, you should be aware of some caveats:1) It's a very tight fit, almost a little too thick for the device. When you close the lid and tighten the screws of the PDA, the casing actually bulges out a little.2) The battery has a connector (plug) that needs to be removed (very easily done with scissors or a pocket knife). Once you've done that, you'll need to solder the exposed cables to the PDA's motherboard.3) The removal of the old battery is a bit tricky because it's glued on the inside to PDA, so you almost need to rip it apart. I recommend using a plastic "spludger" for leverage, which can be purchased cheaply online (Don't pay more than $2 for it!).There are several online step by step installation instructions if you search for "PALM Tungsten E Battery Replacement" on any search engine. The process requires a bit of work, but the hand-held works as new once you've done it, and it's probably something you won't need to do again for a very long time.I did this with six PALM Tungsten E's we use at work in about 2 hours, and now they're working flawlessly.
