This is better than any diffuser I have bought for using with a flash for outdoor macro photography - I would put this up against a cygnustech or AK diffuser any day - it matches or outperforms, is more easier to set up, the materials are of a stiff but flexible vinyl and its held up in the elements. Also the price is 1/5th of the diffusers made specifically for macro that I mentioned, yet this is more versatile as it works with multiple lens and camera combinations. The images I get with this have minimal to no hotspots, and fits perfectly with both the Godox V1 and Godox v350 flash.

This diffuser works well for it's intended purpose, which is diffusing and spreading out the flash so that you don't get as much "flash face" on your subjects and you normally do when using a speedlight. I use this with the Neewer VK750 II i-TTL Speedlite Flash and it works very well. If you attach it right (more on this in a minute), it will significantly soften the flash. I had bought this with my flash, but only started using it at nighttime events I photograph a couple of months ago. It definitely has made a difference. The one problem (and the reason it doesn't get five stars), is like other reviewers have mentioned, it's hard to secure it onto your flash. The Velcro that came with mine was not long enough to secure the softlight around my flash, so I've mostly resorted to just letting it hang on there without being secured. For the most part, it stays on okay, but with sudden movements it will fall off. It takes about 5 seconds to reattach, so it's not the end of the world. You can also rig up a quick workaround by using something else to secure this to your flash (hair ties work well). As a tip, try to put this is far towards the end of your flash as possible. The farther away from the light it is, the more it will spread the light evenly on your subject. If you put this all the way in so it's touching the light, it won't do much for you. Overall, despite the issues with securing it, this is a very good little softbox for $8, and will improve your flash pictures if used right.

Works as needed and expected. Size is decent. Can be a teensy fiddly to get it to stay on your light, but should get easier to use the more I use and become more familiar with it. Foldability is great. Love that it comes in it's own packaging/envelope to keep it safe and clean when it is not in use.

Surprised there is no interior collapsible wire support infrastructure to hold the shape of this flash diffuser emplaced on a flash (Nikon SB800 in my case). I have no confidence this will hold its shape over time. I will fashion an internal support system, yet again improving on another product I have purchased. I am available, for a fee, since my time as a Program Analyst is valuable, to be a product tester to help companies avoid low product reviews. I am not sure how companies decide to reduce the cost of a product by a small dollar amount, through poor product design and implementation while accepting, either knowingly or without having conducted a cost/benefit analysis of customer satisfaction or low user reviews.

I love that this is lightweight and folds up -- I don't carry a large camera bag so I didn't want a lot of extra equipment that would necessitate me getting a larger bag or carrying a second one. I have a Canon 70D and this works great with my external flash when I want a softer effect. Such a simple device -- you don't need to get anything more expensive. This was recommended to me my a professional photographer and I'm so glad that I got one. It's especially nice when doing portraits because it softens the effects of the flash. Because it has velcro, it's adjustable will attach to many different flashes. It didn't loosen or fall off while I was using it, and I was using my camera freehand do I was moving around quite a bit. For the size and price, you really can't go wrong.
