Not for children under around age 10, very difficult to put together, even for an adult.
This set is very difficult to put together and build with. I would suggest it for children 10 years and up. My daughter and I (she is six) attempted two times to follow directions and construct the buildings..but it just kept collapsing on us.Overall, the quality and workmanship is good, but definitely different from Lincoln Logs 30 years ago.I would not purchase this for very young child. We could not build any kind of structure out of it. Maybe we will try again in a few months...it requires lots of focus, concentration, and a very, very steady hand.

My grandson loves them!
I had some old Lincoln logs. My grandson was over and I showed them to him. We both started building. We didn't have enough. I bought two sets for him for Christmas. (One somewhere other than Amazon. That was a mistake. That set cost $5 more than Amazon.) I had hoped that he would let me bring one set home. That didn't happen. I will have to buy another set I guess. I like to play with them too! There are different buildings you can buy now like Lego's. A lot easier to clean up too!

You can not go wrong with Lincoln Logs
I added this 88 piece set to my son's other (2) large sets. I had Lincoln Logs when I was growing up in the 70's and my son and I play with my old 2 (two) sets at my parents, too bad they changed the style from then and now. My son and I build amazing structures from 1 to 3 story buildings to bridges and 1 to 2 story homes. My son is learning about weight talerance and counting/math.
