Really excited to have this installed because anything I put on my dash winds up sliding around on these curvy mountain roads. Just for reference I have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I read a few reviews complaining about the adhesive not being very strong and saying the tray covered the VIN, I didn't really want adhesive residue left behind if I ever decided to remove it, nor did I want to have to pry it off if inspecting my VIN ever became necessary. I chose to use 4 small machine screws to hold it down. I drilled pilot holes and did not have any cracking of the plastic. I put a screw in each corner. The ones closest to the windshield were a massive pain but I finally got them in. It's definitely not going anywhere and I haven't driven yet since installing it but I'm pretty confident it won't be rattling. But if it does I'll probably never know bc there are so many other rattles lol. There are a few gaps at the front corners but that's not a big deal to me really. If you didn't know it was an aftermarket item you would probably never notice it to be honest. Other than that the fit was perfect. I'm so happy to have some extra storage space!

Very nice product and does exactly what it says, but to attach this tray with double sided tape is a drawback for me. I am always doing work on my vehicle and if I tape it to the panels it will be hard to get those panels off if I need to access any wiring for the dash or radio area. I have drilled a couple holes in the part that attaches to the instrument cluster, and used a couple corse thread screws to fasten it there. That way it can be removed to access the areas that need to be.

Neat place to put stuff. Covers up the VIN so might need removal for annual inspection.

It holds my phone holder and I don't have to worry about it sliding outta the Jeep now. I used screw to mount it rather than the two way tape. I like to be able to take things apart easily should something fail.

Works but if you want it to stick well get some double sided gorilla tape.

This item does not sit flat on the dashboard of a 2004 Jeep unlimited as stated. Returned it.

Essential for Jeep dashboards. Otherwise everything will slide off into the street.
