Why is this so expensive ($19.95) on Amazon, but only $9.95 on King Arthur site?

It's more expensive now at $23, while on KA it's sill $9.95 ($18.90 with shipping) and it's the Bread and Cake Enhancer in one. No idea why it's more on Amazon, when it should either be less or equal to the cost on KA.

Is this suitable for vegetarians? Does it have any animal ingredients?

it is safe for vegetarians,I use it all the time
No animal fat in it. It is very good when baking cakes, the cakes are soft and plenty of moisture. I only use it to bake cakes. It is safe.no animal fat at all

NO  don't bother it's a bunch of chemicals
AVOID COMPLETLY
I love most all King Arthur's regular flours but these enhancer things are noteworthy it dissipating ND expensive  often some when you read ingredients it's just dried potatoes ground up onto a powder any instant mashed potatoes could be used or water used from boiling potatoes 
Same goes for there horrible pizza flavors  yo add to dough...that's no good who does that
Always read ingredients be4 buying  when instead of 12 dollars  it's something uou already have in your home or can get cheap like absorbic acid for dough That's just vitamin C you can crush a tab to a powder or Fiesole in recipes liquid easy to figure out how much you'll need to use
Use a cake flour that's a finely milled soft silky flour made from a softer wheat berry 
Swans is good and here on Amazon I got a excellent  deal for a couple of boxes low price WAY lower that any super market Swans is finely milled soft silky cake flour and if in doubt there are basic recipes on the box you can flavor 
Always read ingredients and details  especially  K A..is selling despite there excellent quality of basic flours

What is the expiration on the box?

One of the jars I purchased for King Arthur has a best used by date of 07/05/2023.  It was was purchased in 2021.  This info was found on label listing Nutrition Facts.
