If you use these correctly, they are amazing... blocks snoring!
These little earplugs are better at anything I've ever tried both in terms of blocking noise (even snoring) and sleeping comfort. The key is to get these little things deep in the ear canal. It's a little scary at first use, because other earplugs stick out from the canal. It is this situation that leads to discomfort, inconsistent noise blocking, and falling out during sleep. Because these earplugs are smaller, they fully fill the ear canal. I found it was best to insert the earplugs while laying down and tugging the outer ear slightly backwards. This seems to straighten the canal a bit. Then roll the earplug between your thus and index finger and quickly place in the ear canal. You'll know when it is set properly. As the foam expands, the sound will disappear nearly completely. If it doesn't feel fully blocked then try again. When the earplugs are in the right position, only a tiny bit will stick out of the canal, just enough to grab a bit for removal. Some reviews say they are too small. I have average size ears, and these truly worked great... the best! One word of caution... they work so well, they unfortunately block your alarm clock too!

Most comfortable so far.
I have a small ear and find most earplugs are uncomfortable. These are the only brand of earplugs I do not mind wearing for extended periods of time. I think they block sound a little less than others. But, the others are uncomfortable if you use them for a long time. So, it definitely is a trade-off you should be aware of.

Great For Smaller Ears But Pricier
I'm a petite woman and I found regular ear plugs uncomfortable to use. These work great, and they block out almost all sound. I never hear my husband's alarm. I'd give them 5 stars, but they are more expensive than the standard ear plugs and every now and then one in the box will have a different density and not work as well. But overall, I'm quite satisfied with them.

Persevere and win
I am changing my review from an initial 2-star "Disappointed" review to a glowing 5-stars after my latest attempt at using these things. I had initially written how my ear canal is really very narrow, and that the disadvantage of these smaller plugs was that they would get squished in the process of inserting them, no matter how or which way I pulled my ears to try and straighten the canal. Last night, I decided to give it another go, since I have a tin full of the things anyway, and somehow the planets and the ear canal finally aligned perfectly, and the plug went right in all the way. Once the plug expanded to its full size, this time around the difference was monumental! My ear was completely sealed, and I could hear *nothing*! I still had to struggle to insert the plug in the other ear, but I finally managed, and then it was bliss! I have not experienced such a deep silence since I descended to the depths an a lava tuve years ago, and I did not hear a thing from the moment I finally got the plugs in right, until I took them out in the morning. For the first time in many months I was able to get a solid, full-night sleep without getting woken up by my wife's fierce snoring, and I woke up feeling fully rested and happy. So, to all of you writing that the plugs don't work, and don't suppress sound, I respectfully suggest that you're not inserting them properly, which is exactly what happened to me. Once they're in the right way, straight in and all the way inside, I assure you that the noise reduction is dramatic and astonishing. Granted, it is not necessarily easy, and for some people it may be more of a struggle than for other, but once the plugs are in the right way, they do work, and work VERY well! So please keep trying; you'll be happy you did. One last word of caution. When you get the proper alignment of the ear canal, it is possible for the plug to go in too deep. This could result in some pain deep inside. Make sure the plug goes in fully, so that when it expands no part of it protrudes from the earhole, but no deeper than that. And if it feels painful at the bottom, just gently pull it out a bit, until you feel the seal, but no pain. Good luck!

Quality has deteriorated
I’m sad to report this - but the quality has taken a nose dive. These used to be the BEST for small ear canals. I’ve ordered these 5x over the years - previously they came in a stylish round container with a lid and were blissfully soft, causing no discomfort. My ears are sensitive and small, these were the only plugs I’ve found that have been comfortable overnight without causing soreness, a true gem. My two recent orders? The packaging is now a much cheaper disposable box- and the quality of its contents has followed suit. The size and appearance of the plugs look the same, but they feel much stiffer and instantly feel uncomfortable in my ears. I’m not sure If they have added a different coating or the material has changed but I can no longer insert them fully into my canals without causing instant itch and discomfort, so have to slip them further out with affects the noise cancellation. I’m really disappointed. I’m a repeat customer - but not sure if I will continue to be. These have gone from a sold 5*, to a 3*. They are still the smallest in size I’ve found - but it’s apparent the company has cut some corners to profit and they are not what they used to be.

I rarely write reviews but I really love this product! I am a light sleeper and very sensitive to noise. I have been using ear plugs for a very long time. I have tried many of them, but they all made me uncomfortable because I have small ear canals. I tried PQ Small Ear Plugs. And ohhh YESSSS! I found my ear plugs!. They are very soft, comfortable and take the shape of your ear canal. I am quite satisfied with this product!

Child comfort: These are the first earplugs I've found that my 10 year old daughter will wear. She still doesn't love to wear them but she doesn't cry if I ask her to (usually on trips to block noise for sleep) like others we've tried. Adult comfort: I have very small, sensitive ear canals and find these MUCH more comfortable than other earplugs I've used in the past, including the green MPOW ones I purchased from Amazon, which were my most comfortable to date. With the MPOW (and even worse with others I've tried) I felt like my inner ears were overpressurized and my ear canals would ache and feel tender after they were in for awhile, and for awhile after removing the earplugs. With these I still feel a bit of pressurization but not nearly to the same degree, and my ear canals don't ache. Insertion: They are easy to compress by rolling between two fingers and stay compressed for long enough to easily get them in place, slowly retaining their original size, similar to the MPOW. I love this feature because they easily slip into ones ear canals rather than needing to rush to cram them in, and my kids (10 and 13) can even do it themselves. They do fall out if you don't insert them far enough, probably due to their tapered shape. Sound reduction: The further you insert them, the more sound they block. At first they weren't blocking much but I realized I could insert them more and achieve better sound reduction. It was a bit deceptive at first because I thought I was inserting to the point I've inserted others in the past since they were sticking out of my ear about the same amount; however, these are shorter so they can be inserted what seems like further but it's actually not. Most other earplugs I've worn sticking out probably 1-4-3/8" or so for comfort but these only maybe 1/8".
