Gibson Elite Couture Bands Round Reactive Glaze Stoneware Dinnerware Set, Service for Four (16pcs), Blue and Cream

I must admit that I really don't know or care that much about stoneware, but I needed to replace my old set because after 20 years of service some pieces of the old dish set were missing and others were chipped. I am pleased how well made and durable this set of Gibson stoneware dinner is. The dishes are very attractive and classy looking. The plates are heavy, which I think speaks to this dinner set's quality. However, for some, the weight of the plates could pose a problem for some users with mobility issues. Stacking multiple pieces at one time into the cupboard could be difficult. (Single stacking should not be a problem). The only thing I would recommend to the manufacturer is to make available a serving platter and serving bowls with the set.

We are very satisfied with this set. So much so that we ordered a second set. We like the subtle design and use of colors. It is a work of art not science so there are some nuances that I find give it a little more character. Sturdy and love the larger size of the plates, bowls and mugs over our previous set. Donated them to Goodwill. The first set was fine but the second set had a crack in a dinner plate. It appeared to be cracked in the baking process not the shipping. I called the company and they sent me a replacement. All is good and we love them!

I love these dishes! I looked for months reading many reviews. Many of the sets I liked said they came with broken pieces, even with replacements. These all arrived VERY well packaged and in perfect condition!!! After months of constant use they are still in excellent shape. They go through the dishwasher well. They have weight, but are not over heavy. The design is not elaborate, but they look good. The finish is beautiful. No chips, no rough spots. The bowls are big and shallow, as opposed to many that are deeper. These are great for soups and I love to make soup, especially in the winter.Great for stir fry too. I got service for 8 so that we can have matching dishes when we have guests. I love having matching dishes and mugs. Threw out all the mismatched ones that had gathered over the years and moves.

Beautiful finish. Fully microwavable, unlike other products I’ve tried that claim to be. Substantial and durable. Quality product all around.

Upon arrival, this set was intact. As I unwrapped the place settings, I found the plates to be, abnormally large. If you have generous storage space, and wish to pile on the food, two or three serving sizes of each food group at one time, at one sitting, quite easy to do using these plates. I prefer a more traditionally sized plate, smaller in circumference. The soup bowls are generous, as are the salad plates, which I do appreciate. The cups are traditionally sized. So far no chipping, breakage tendencies during use and washing. The pricing for this stoneware set is reasonable. I am finding that I use the plates in this set, more often than I use them as dinner plates, as serving platters.

They work well in the microwave, for hot drinks-- for the table they are substantial, and work well in the dishwasher.

Items were packed tightly and I found no broken pieces when I opened the box. Two pieces were "less than perfect" but barely noticable; one dinner plate has a small pit, and a small amount of glaze on one dessert plate didn't entirely cover the rim of the plate. I took a dark permanent marker and rubbed the tip of the marker over the plate. I haven't used them yet, but they are heavy and appear to be of good quality. I will order a second set soon. Long past due, by I'm looking forward to getting rid of my old chipped plates.

The pieces are nice and solid. Love the extra large bowl, can fit a whole can of soup in it. They are a little heavy, but I like that. The plates are 11in wide, so make sure they will fit before you buy. As a whole, they look almost as nice as a $500 set I liked, but would be scared to use a set that expensive. My only complaints which are minor. The colored rings are not always even. A bit inherent in a handmade piece, but for example the middle blue ring will go from non existent to 1/4 inch. Most are basically perfect, but there are a few that bug me, but that's just my add. Also as others have said, some of the glazing isn't perfect. Basically tiny bubbles in it. Not really noticeable except in the right light.
