Cable changes everything…
I had some hiletgo variants and they would not work. I bought these and after reading more someone indicated it may be the cable. I did usbc to usbc and these did not fire up. Soon as I went to usb to c cable the they fired up. Haven’t tested the charging etc, but this should help people that are having difficulty using a usbc cable and the leds not turning on

Nice part.
Nice part. Hooked one up to a 6 month old/never-charged 1100mah 18350 and it charged from 3.7v to 4.24v (which is exactly +1% as stated in the spec) starting at about 950ma for about an hour. The large 8pin chip reached 120ºf during this but temps tapered off as charge current did. The red status led lit as expected and I’m waiting now for the green to come on - voltage has not exceeded 4.24v and the current is dropping, dropping, dropping as it nears full charge. All in all this is a very nice part, no muss, no fuss. As the charge current dropped below about 250ma the voltage did rise to 4.26v as measured by a $2 miniature digital voltmeter. The full charge led is blue, not green

Delicate, but functional
Works well but very sensitive. They will charge. Batteries with a USB A to C cable. NO USB PD support. Very sensitive to voltage on wrong pins or lack of voltage on pins. A few of mine have died.

Works well!
If charges the batteries as expected! It's acting funny with this tiny battery, flashing both blue and red lights when the battery is charged/closed to charged, but I believe that the problem is the battery that don't charge on a stable tension when it is close to charged! With the other battery it works as expected, turn blue when it is charged!

buyer be wary
Be wary. I bought 5 a year ago for a quick project, however I was never able to get it to work. That first experience was a year ago. Last week I used another in a different project, and as before it wouldn't work at all. Today while working on this new project, I replaced the USB C batt charger module (the 3rd or 5) None or the 5 will set an LED no matter what is connected. The wiring isn't complex.. to check a simpler hookup, I put an 18650 (reading 2.9 vdc) and plugged in the USB C using a verified good cable and verified good charger. Concluding, zero of the 5 modules I bought a year ago work.

Horrible packaging. A few failed immediately on first use.
Terrible packaging. Boards are just banging around in a plastic bag. Already had a few of them fail immediately when plugged in. Not sure there are better options. Kind of the cheap risk you take with this sort of thing.
