Great for wagon rides!
The title of these dot-to-dot books should give you an idea of how many dots are on a page....a lot! And of course that means the numbers are going to be very small. I appreciate some of the other reviewers stating that these can be difficult and take some time to complete, but some of the negative reviews are pretty harsh and sound like they are just written by a bunch of grumpy people with no patience. To sum it up:It's a lot of dots. The numbers are very small. It takes some time to complete. This is not a My Little Pony dot-to-dot.The finished product is amazing.Don't be turned off by the negative reviews. Good thing Amazon reviews didn't exist in the 1800s when folks were moving West, we never would have gotten past the Mississippi River: "The wagon ride is harsh and the days are long. 2 mules died and we ran out of potatoes. I wish I had stayed home in my log cabin in Virginia. I give this trip 1 star".These are fantastic, challenging dot-to-dots that are great for passing the time....especially if you're in a wagon going West.

Super cute book.
Beautifully made. Excellent quality. Nice thick pages. It's a very large book though. Much bigger than I expected. The numbers are small but I'm not having any issues seeing them. I like that the numbers are colored, makes them easier to find. Some of the numbers are right beside each other but some require some searching. Unlike normal dot to dot books this one has you going all over the place. Sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards, sometimes you'll be crossing over your lines, etc. It's easy to make mistakes when connecting the dots though. There are so many numbers that I've connected the wrong dots many times. I wouldn't use a pen for these. The end result is always cute. The animals look kind of like a sketch. I think it's a neat book, it's worth the price.I'm almost done with it. Just three more to go. It's been a therapeutic little book. I enjoyed it. Would recommend.

Awesome!!!
It's unfortunate that with any of the Thomas Pavitte books that instead of them getting the 5 stars they deserve, many people have knocked off stars for the numbers being too small or as I read not dark enough. Don't be frightened off-these books are amazing! And this is my favorite. It's 1,000 dots. Of course they're going to be small! However, I'm in my late 40's and wear reading glasses, and I can see them just fine. I have a pair slightly stronger than my normal day to day for detailed things like this. You do NOT need a magnifying glass. Good lighting does help and you will probably want some readers. I also really like this slanted, table top raised desk. The pictures are incredible! At first I used a straight edge and pencil. Now I use a medium point pen (highly recommend the medium black Pitt artist pen that is sold here.) It doesn't smudge and a thicker tip makes your final product look great! I'm getting better and rarely use a straight edge. These gems by Thomas Pavitte are the absolute BEST in adult dot to dots! They are very addicting. The only problem is that I'm going to run out soon, Mr. Pavitte--please draw some more!

Great pictures
got this for my 10 year old grandson. He loves doing dot to dot. Great pictures. The numbers are really small but he has young eyes. Might be hard for a older adult.

Fun concept, great execution
I purchased this as a gift for my mother in law. She told me she loved dot to dots. As far as I know, she hasn't used it yet. I hope she does in the future though! After seeing it.... I kind of want to order one for myself! It's an extremely large book. We are a big pug family, so I loved that there was a pug one on the cover. My MIL lives on a farm and owns several horses. So we were excited to see that the biggest image was a horse fold out poster! How perfect for her.I think the concept of connecting the dots, then being able to color them is fun as well! Kind of like a two for one. The only downside is the numbers were fairly small, I didn't realize how many little dots would be on each page. Haha. For most people that's alright, for the older generations it might be harder on their eyes.We saw this book and several similar at Barnes and Noble after I purchased it on Amazon. Amazon had a better price.

time well spent
dot to dot has gotten way more fun for adults. i discovered this new hobby about a month ago. i bought a rather juvenile book to start and quickly moved to a book called extreme dot to dot. well that book has decent final results but i have to admit once the numbers get to be 4 digits long confusion is easy. so with these books they all stop at 1000. no more no less. well maybe a tad less if you cant find one, don't worry though it wont really matter at the end. i have been working on the animals pictures the last week. it is fun to watch them develop as you complete the puzzle. oh yeah also every 100 numbers the shade of the numbers changes. makes it easier to keep track. also the pictures have been designed so you do not cross over nigher numbers if done correctly and in order. these are quite fun and i just discovered the artist involved with this series has another series. HUMMMMM

TINY NUMBERS
I don’t even need glasses but the numbers in this book are freaking SMALL. I have to hunch and squint just to see them. Which makes this more frustrating than relaxing. Also, they use similar colors to define certain number groups and because of the similarities, it makes it even more difficult to find what you’re looking for. I still use it but I use it less than I’d like to given these problems.
