This review is challenging so please read despite the rating. I suffer from a frozen shoulder coupled with a torn rotator cuff in the same shoulder. If you have suffered from either or both, you understand how excruciatingly painful one is, but to simultaneously have both is beyond words. Therefore, I have been researching heating pads which wrap around the neck, covering a good portion of my shoulder and that have an extension down onto my arms. With these types of injuries, you are required to utilize ice and heat to ease not only the pain but the swelling too. When I saw this heating pad/ice pad, I was so pleased because this fit the bill for me. Heat in the microwave, or store in the freezer. No wires to become entangled in, the length of arm coverage would hopefully be spot on and the weight would secure the pad from slipping. I am very thrilled to report that the wrap is ideal for my needs, however, having said that, the wrap is large and it takes much longer than the 3 minutes as per the instructions to heat up. You have to continually flip it and microwave for 30 seconds on each flip. It is heavy and a little clumsy to handle due to my condition, so there's that. Luckily, I have someone who is able to do this for me as at this time, my effected arm cannot handle anything weighted as described. Once heated, guess not in the microwave long enough, as it held a decent amount of heat for about 7 to 10 minutes, not long enough to ebb my pain, but instructions are clear not to exceed a 3 minute microwave usage, we continued to heat for 30 seconds, turn, reheat etc. I am keeping it as I am hoping that we will be able to find a proper amount of time to sustain the heat when we microwave. If you are planning to use it for cold and hot relief, I suggest you purchase 2 one for heat the other for cold. It is very comfortable to wear does give relief, hopefully will be able to figure it out so as to attain the best this wrap has to offer!! I will be purchasing one to use for cold relief. I WANTED TO UPDATE MY PREVIOUS REVIEW. I AM PLEASED TO ADVISE THAT SUNNYBAY REACHED OUT TO ME AND GAVE ME DETAILS ON HOW TO RECTIFY THE HEATING PROCESS AND IT HAS WORKED. I CHANGED MY RATING FROM 3 STARS TO 5. THIS PRODUCT IS HONESTLY A GAME CHANGER FOR PAIN RELIEF AND WELL WORTH PURCHASING, YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DID!!!

works great, heats quickly, and best of all no smell for those of us sensitive to fragrances!

I really like this product, I use mine almost every day for pain and stiffness in my neck, upper back and shoulder muscles. Although I received it earlier than expected, which was nice, shipping info is scrambled and still says it’s on its way. My only complaint is that this is the third one I’ve purchased since March of 2017, as the material used for the inside bladder seems too thin and soon splits and allows the seeds to fall out everywhere. Part of the problem might be that you have to fold it to fit inside the microwave. The last one only lasted about a year or so before this happened. I mended it three times over the next several months and then gave up and ordered a new one. Otherwise, it’s a good product that’s made in the USA.

My first review was 3/5, because I felt the product didn't retain heat for a period of time. I've found that I was able to double the time in the microwave by flipping it around, and it did help. It stays warm and because it's weighted, stays put. Would recommend!

this is heaven but doesn't last long. Suddenly after less then 6 months it just fried in the microwave and smelled up the house for about 6 hours. And no I didn't leave it alone or put it on to long. It was like, you can only microwave it just "SO" many times but they don't tell you that. It is sad because My husband, me and my friend all love this for heat. OK today is 3 January 2016 and I'm giving sort of an update. I actually have ordered another one of these and now we have three( The seller replaced one of my earlier ones that burned up ) . These work so well that I decided it would be good to have three so that I don't run the risk of one being overused and burning up again. Yes it's a lot of money to spend but if you have shoulder and back/ neck pain or you have the chills because you don't feel well or you live in a cold climate it really is great The coverage it gives is very good even if you are large person. At this point as you read before my first one lasted about a year my second one lasted half the time and now I have three new ones. This time at the suggestion of the seller I make sure my microwave is perfectly clean and I heat it up in spurts and flip, turn and refold as I heat. It is more work but these do cost a lot and I would like it to last so I am doing as the seller suggested and we will see how long they last . Hopefully I will have a very good update for you in a couple years. I gave it three stars because they didn't last long and they're expensive as far as doing the job it's meant for and how it makes you feel---- I definitely give it five stars.

The weight of this neck wrap is perfect, it almost reminded me of a small weighted blanket. I can’t use weighted blankets because I don’t want my dog to get under it and get smothered, so this is a nice option for me to still be able to have some weight on me in a comforting way. I also love that this is not a plug in item, and I can use it wherever and don’t need to be near a plug. It also perfectly covers the neck and shoulder areas, it’s the perfect size. I did struggle with microwaving it. It’s really big, and my microwave is small. I couldn’t lay it out like I was supposed to to warm all areas. So some areas just didn’t get warm. That was the only flaw with this product. I didn’t know how to fix that though because it is the perfect size for doing its job. The heat lasted about 30 minutes. I microwaved it for 2 mins. I wish the heat would last a little longer, but it’s sufficient for mini heat therapy sessions while I’m at my desk or relaxing. I’d definitely recommend this product, even with the microwaving issues. It’s like a nice warm hug around your shoulders.

I have this product for only 3 days. I ordered one for my mom because it was on sale and I liked it too.its very comforting and I already feel it works.no smell, no leakage.holds the heat pretty well. Customer service answered my questions that I can share with uI asked how long this product will last. ?Is there any special treatment we have to give to make it last longer?answered I have mine for many years. I burnt one one time so I learned not to overheat it. It smells bad and the bad smell never goes away. I have a customer who overheat the wraps. The product tag becomes gum-like. She had a lot of problems with the thread breaking. You can imaging that the threads can be weakened after it was overheated the wrap so much when the tyvek paper turned in to gum. I believe if you are careful not to overheat it, it can last a long time. Askedthe material that flax seed is in it looks very weak and I am worried that get rotten and makes hole. How strong is that material? Answered,We used the best quality cotton we can buy. It is pretty strong. Size, I got lorge one, im an average woman.it covers my shoulders and half back. I love that the inner sac has many stitches that holds the seeds in place.i wrap it around my shoulder and do my house work, feed and hold and play with my baby.he likes it too I guess, the outer cover is soft and cozy, easy to remove .I hope it lasts at least one year!! I add a drop of lavender that bought from amazon.ca on it and feel im in spa.i dont know why I love it.i bought one for my mom .I hope she likes it too!
