Overpriced, but can you put a price on safety?
I recently bought a new home with a gas oven. I’ve never used gas before and so bought this FIBARO CO sensor to compliment the kitchen.Am I glad? Yes. After only one cook, I checked the statistics on the app. The CO level was high, but only just short of triggering the sensor. Realistically it could have caused a serious health emergency. After that, I disconnected the oven immediately and bought an electric oven that night. This device works within HomeKit and also has a temperature sensor built in, so it compliments your growing smart home too.The worst element of this product though is the FIBARO app. It crashes constantly, especially if you’re searching through the settings of the device. You also should add this device to HomeKit through the FIBARO app, otherwise I discovered some bugs that can occur.Overall, a great device, but let down by the price tag and the awful app.

Good but the wire joiner should be in the box!
Compared to something like Lightwave, which I think is the only other mains switching product in the UK, this is fairly priced as you don't need a hub. Installation was very easy, and I'm not a qualified electrician (tut tut). Didn't bother with the Fibaro app, as looked awful, just installed straight into Home app through my iPhone. Major gripe was that you need to do a 3way connection on the neutral wire, and Fibaro's installation videos all show a joiner, but don't tell you its not in the box, which it should be for £80!!! The training videos also suggest you can hide this behind a light switch, but good luck with that as I have hollow walls and the boxes on the back of the switch have zero room (even though it is tiny), but just put it at the other end of the wire near the actual light.

Device tampered warning will not go away
The problem for me with this is that there is a perpetual warning in the Fibaro iOS app that says "Device tampered" and that will not go away. I have tried everything to get rid of this and now I am returning it because of this fault.I have read the instructions so often I think I will be dreaming about them. I have reset the device, reinstalled the app. I have checked the tamper switch on the back. My device is very well mounted. It is on a good solid wall. There is nothing about its installation that is in question.Occasionally I do get a "connection fault" warning instead of the "device tampered" warning which at least is variety. The unit is in a location with strong Wi Fi and nothing else has a problem there with the connection. The unit looks very nice and its design is very neat. As far as I know it works so, if you don't mind the "Device tampered" warning then you will probably be happy with it, as long as it maintains a connection I guess.I like things that don't have perpetual warnings about being tampered with so that is why I am giving up on this.I have wasted so much time with this thing and I now have two holes in my wall. However I will be glad to be rid of it.

Good quality Apple HomeKit CO Detector
Very good quality product at a reasonable price. I think it is the only standalone Apple HomeKit carbon monoxide (CO) detector available in the UK. I needed one for my boiler room. Well made, good instructions, wall fixings included and surprisingly small. Setup was was very smooth and without any issues. As a bonus it also measures the temperature. Since my boiler room is in the basement and I might not hear the alarm or iPhone notifications while sleeping I have added an automation to turn on all lights in the house if the sensor is triggered. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this device is manufactured in the EU (Poland) and not in the Far East so I guess the carbon footprint is much lower.

Slow reaction
Always works but is very slow to react to commands from any sources (Alexa, Google, Homekit, Flic etc. )

Poor battery life
As much as I like the HomeKit integration and its small footprint, the battery won’t last a year. It’s just a bit of hassle that you have to change battery every too often, even though the alarm never went off.

Excellent product
This is an excellent product. I’ve used it to set up a HomeKit timer on the extraction fans in my apartment. Set and forget, it works perfectly and installation was easy. Just make sure you buy a Wago adapter at the same time you buy this (not included). The Fibaro app has a dated look but works fine for setup. Once setup it is no longer needed as Apple HomeKit takes over. Overall very pleased. Could definitely be a tenner cheaper though. Price is a bit high for what it is.
