Nice color
I like this sunscreen and it's my #2 go-to. The only reason it's #2 instead of #1 is because it's hard to get off my hands and when I touch my face I transfer that color to whatever I touch next. The color is nice on my face and I use it on days I don't wear makeup. It wears well under make up though. I find that after I apply it, I have to wash my hands twice with soap, and then still have to scrub the color off with a towel. This has stained my white towels. And the important part - yes it has good sun protection.

Great mineral-based screen
My skin is sensitive to both the sun and traditional chemical-based sunscreens so I have to use the mineral-base ones. This is the best one I have tried. The SPF 30 still protects me well and rubs in a lot better than the SPF 50. It will still leave a white layer on your skin and I have seen some 1 star reviews because of it. However, that is how mineral-based screens work - they create a layer that reflects UV rather than absorbing UV into your skin and causing a chemical reaction in/under the skin. I do wish there was one that could fully be absorbed and not visible but... physics.

Good coverage, but hard to apply.
This is a great sunscreen. Good protection and recommended by my esthetician, BUT it’s really tough to rub in. As in, if my kids try to do it themselves, they look like ghosts all morning. I’ll keep using it for me because I can more easily control how much I use and it doesn’t cause breakouts, but there are definitely easier products to apply. It also caused some dry patches on my sons face - he’s got pretty sensitive skin - so maybe not a fit for all.

A Symphony of Science, Skincare, and Simplicity
When it comes to sunscreen, the market is saturated with options claiming to deliver sun protection with a side of skincare. But does CeraVe’s 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 deliver more than just promises? Let’s dive into this travel-sized powerhouse that’s redefining the way we think about sun care. Packaging and Portability: The Travel Companion You Deserve At 2.5 oz, this sunscreen is perfectly sized for life on the go—whether you’re jet-setting across continents or heading to the gym. Its sleek design ensures it won’t take up unnecessary space in your bag, while the screw-top cap prevents any dreaded sunscreen explosions. Travel-size convenience meets full-size efficacy. Formulation: Science in a Tube CeraVe isn’t just a skincare brand—it’s a science lab bottled up for your face. This sunscreen combines zinc oxide (10%) and titanium dioxide (5.5%), offering broad-spectrum UV protection that blocks both UVA (aging rays) and UVB (burning rays). But what truly sets it apart is the marriage of sun defense with a lineup of dermatologist-approved skincare superstars: 1. Hyaluronic Acid: Keeps your skin hydrated and plump, battling the dryness mineral sunscreens can sometimes cause. 2. Niacinamide: Calms redness, minimizes pores, and gives your skin that smooth, even finish. 3. Ceramides: These unsung heroes repair and reinforce your skin barrier, ensuring you don’t just survive under the sun but thrive. Texture and Application: A Lesson in Patience Unlike chemical sunscreens that vanish instantly, this mineral formula takes its time. Upon application, you’ll notice a slight white cast—a badge of authenticity that proves its mineral origins. The trick is to warm the sunscreen between your fingers and apply it in layers, like building a skincare masterpiece. The result? A velvety matte finish that doubles as a primer under makeup. Oil-Free but Full of Love If your skin tends to produce enough oil to fry an egg, CeraVe’s oil-free formulation is your saving grace. It sits lightly, doesn’t clog pores, and won’t trigger breakouts—a godsend for sensitive and acne-prone skin. Performance: Under the Sun and Beyond From scorching beach days to winter hikes, this sunscreen holds its ground. It doesn’t sweat off or melt into oblivion, and its water-resistant formula lasts through most outdoor adventures (though you should always reapply every two hours). Unlike many mineral sunscreens that feel heavy, this one breathes, making it suitable for all seasons. The Good, the Great, and the Room for Growth The Good: The blend of UV protection and skincare ingredients feels like you’re doing your skin a favor with every application. The Great: Its versatility—it’s gentle enough for kids, safe for the most sensitive skin, and an ideal first step for skincare minimalists. Room for Growth: The initial white cast might deter those with deeper skin tones, but with proper blending, it eventually dissipates. Final Thoughts: More Than Just Sunscreen CeraVe 100% Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 isn’t just a sunscreen—it’s a daily commitment to protecting your skin while improving its health. It’s the rare product that understands that skincare is about balance: protecting what’s outside and nurturing what’s within. Whether you’re a sunscreen skeptic or a devotee, this zinc-and-titanium duo deserves a permanent spot in your routine. In a world where skincare can often feel overwhelming, CeraVe brings us back to basics—with an edge.

Non-irritating but I look like a ghost
I struggle to find face sunscreen that doesn't irritate my eyes. In the plus column, this one is non-irritating and is long-lasting. But it is REALLY white. Any of the mineral sunscreens are going to look a little white going on, but most of them fade somewhat after 15 minutes. With this one, I still looked white as a ghost hours later.

READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE PURCHASING THIS!
I bought this sunscreen only because we were going to St Croix and they require a mineral sunscreen on the island. I definitely will not be buying it again though. As soon as we applied, we noticed a very prominent white casting. My husband and I looked like we got blasted with powder. I was thinking even though we both look ridiculous, at least our skin is protected. Well, it is NOT waterproof or water resistant. As soon as we got in any water (ocean or pool), it was no longer on us (not protecting our skin). I received a horrible sunburn on our 2nd day of our 7-day vacation. I was miserable for about 4 days. I regret purchasing this sunscreen. I always read the reviews of anything I purchase and most of the reviews were good so that’s why I purchased THIS particular EXPENSIVE sunscreen. Therefore I wanted to post a REAL review to inform people of what they are purchasing before they spend their money on it. -Leaves a very prominent white casting. -Is NOT water resistant or waterproof. If you plan to get in any water, you will NOT be protected from the sun until you get out of the water and reapply.

Great sunscreen
I use this sunscreen when training outside and sweating. This sunscreen absorbs into the skin very well and doesn't clog the pours like others do resulting in you getting hotter when training.

Yes, I know mineral sunscreens have a tendency to leave a white cast, but this is just too much. Tacky and hard to spread, unless you're prepared to really scrape and tug at your skin. Even then it doesn't blend in, but pills and looks like semi-dried school glue. I won't even begin to imagine what it's like under makeup. I'd have given it one star but added another just because presumably it IS still doing its job as sunscreen.
