Great book for NICU nurses
This book is fabulous in terms of it's detail and realistic scenario descriptions. I was new to the floor (though I previously had three years of adult nursing experience) and bought this to start preparing myself, and I found that it helped me to know so much more by the time I started my orientation than I would have had I not made the purchase (and I'm STILL reading and learning tons of new material in this text). This book is written by healthcare professionals who spent their careers in NICU and know exactly the type of information you need to know to be your best practitioner. They even highlight the really important points in purple! Worth the purchase, to be sure.

One of the best NICU resource books
This book is always on our shelf in the NICU that I work at. It gives a lot of important content for the new and the seasoned NICU nurse. I had an older edition and wanted a newer version. Things change so quickly in the field I felt a newer version would be helpful. It is filled with new information and will give me many hours of valuable reading.

This book is easy to read, easy to find specific subjects quickly. Great resource for any NICU nurse!

a wonderful reference
I started in a Level 3 NICU as a new graduate RN, so I bought this book to help me learn more about neonatal care. It has been a wonderful reference and learning tool. It's very easy to read and understand and is very thorough in the information it covers. I would recommend this to any NICU nurse, regardless of the years of experience he/she has... I promise you'll learn something new!

Good prep for RNC
I took the RNC recently and this book explained all that I needed when I had trouble with some of the review questions. It is a little on the tedious side, but is very nice to have as a resource. The writing is a little small, but I was able to highlight and make some areas stand out.

Beautiful book
A must have for any student or health professional caring for neonates. Lovely cover, good size, great pictures and diagrams and easy to read. Very happy with this book and also really happy with Amazon's price and speed of delivery, it was worth paying a little extra for faster shipping.

Good secondary book to have if you are a NICU ...
Good secondary book to have if you are a NICU RN. It has a lot of pending research studies published in the textbook, very wordy. I prefer "Core Curriculum for Neonatal Intensive care Nursing" 5th ed. by M.Terese Verklan and Marlene Walden---breaks things down into an outline format, information is more specific to bedside nursing care. I used the Merenstein textbook to study for my CCRN and passed, in addition, i also used "Certification and Core Review for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing/ Edition 4 Editor Robin L. Watson, to study for the CCRN.

Book was for a George Brown course and was very informative. If you are interested in neonatal intensive care, this book is a definite read.
