Jerome Reybaud's remarkably accomplished feature debut is a sly and sophisticated take on gay romance in the 21st century. On a seemingly ordinary night in Paris, Pierre takes one last look his lover Paul's sleeping body, then steals away into the early morning light. Where he s headed, neither of them know. Pierre's only guide is his Grindr app, which leads him on a series of encounters with an indelible cast of characters across the French countryside. Paul sets out after him, using his own phone to track Pierre's movements in a strange and wonderful game of Grindr cat-and-mouse. Bonus features: * AIRES 06 (2005, 25 minutes) a short film by Jerome Reybaud * Rushes * Deleted Scenes * Music Videos * Theatrical Trailer * Booklet featuring essay by Melissa Anderson Review: a total waste of over 2 hours - don't waste your time unless you'd be interested in watching a guy tool around France using Grindr to hook up with strangers sounds promising to me except what you will not see are any naked scenes except for a brief 1 minute nothing scene in bed with sheets obstructing the view there's no flow or continuity some scenes are cut off the no logical progression OH what you will get in abundance is the grindr guy picking up old ladies and having to listen to them rant and rail about how miserable their lives are iI want my money back one of the worst I've seen Review: This is a film about loneliness and the pursuit of sex. - Pierre leaves his lover, Paul, to meander around central France looking for hook-ups. What he finds is other lonely people, charming and interesting, but very little sex. Discouraged, he is finally retrieved by Paul. But when Paul begins to describe to him certain childhood memories brought to mind by the landscape, Pierre, typically, falls asleep. The last two words on the screen are, "Only connect." Good advice for Pierre, but too late.
