Good overview of WWI Badges
This is the most easily used, comprehensive book on Brit cap badges that I have found and certainly does an excellent job of covering the WWI badges. It has separate sections on Cavalry, Infantry, Yeomanry, Territorial and Service battalions, and Arms and Services (such as the Tank Corp, RE, RA etc). There is also a good intro on the importance of the badges, history, how they were made, etc. If there is any area in which I wish the book went into more detail it is in how to spot fakes and restrikes, although some points are given to watch out for. The book has already helped me in deciding what badges to add to my collection and made me much more choosey about which ones to acquire. If you are collecting badges or thinking of collecting or just want to learn more about the ones you already have, this is definately the volume to pick up. More than worth the price! Highly recommended.

Good Cap Badge primer
As a collector with little prior knowledge of British WWI cap badges, I found this book to be the perfect introduction to the field. The narrative is well written and engaging. The photographs are crisp, clean and well-lit. The authors provided a good number of views of backs of badges and explained various details to assist the collector in determining authenticity. For years, I have owned copies of Kipling and King's seminal volumes, "Headdress Badges of the British Army," but had a hard time making sense of what I read in them. This new book, "British Army Cap Badges of the First World War" is the perfect bridge for carrying me into understanding WWI badges. I am very happy with the purchase and am sure I will consult it often.

High quality book that would be perfect for the beginning badge collector or for someone casually interested in the subject. Excellent photographs of the badges with period shots of the badges in use on uniform. Probably not the best work for the advanced collector but recommended for everyone else.

British Army Cap Badges of WW1 and WW2 by Doyle and Foster
These two books by Doyle and Foster are really nice, well set out and simple to use reference books that seem to be the standard works for those interested in the researching regiments and corps of the two world wars and, the interwar years, including women's services. Both containing 120+ pages and colour photos of the badges, they cover pretty much every 'official' regimental badge you're likely to come across along with other interesting explanations. I highly recommend both books as a set.
